Free Beads from Magpie Gemstones

I got some free, (yes free, one of my favorite words) beads from Magpie Gemstones!     I’m not sure what I will create with them yet but I’m playing with designs on my sketch pad.  Any ideas are welcome.    I’ll keep you posted on my progress.

Thank you for mentioning this company. I just checked out their site and found so many lovely items that I would love to have! I also wanted to tell you something. I have been seeing your jewelry around for a couple of months. And just found your blog recently. Yesterday and today I have been scrolling through starting from your most recent post and have made it all the way here so far. I find your work to be so inspiring. I have been a dissatisfied beader for a while, and while my items sell well at the local shop (I do not yet sell online), my desire is really wanting to get more into metal working. I can’t afford to take classes so I am teaching myself…which as you are self taught, you know can sometimes be a frustrating experience. My style is completely different from yours (although I would love to WEAR yours!), but I still find myself so inspired by your work. When I start to get frustrated, I look at pictures of your work. And now scrolling back through your blog, I can see the evolution of your work just over the past year, how your lines have more fluidity, etc. You are truly an inspiration. I just wanted you to know that….and to thank you.

Thank you so much Diane! I am truly flattered by your compliments. Yes, has some very beautiful things. I can’t always afford to buy them but I check them out all the time. Teaching yourself is hard but rewarding. I just learn better that way and have always taught myself whatever I know. I was a frustrated beader at one time, then expanded into wirework and now trying metalwork. It’s a great journey and one I’m sure is never completed. Being creative comes with a restlessness that is never satisfied. I look forward to seeing your work sometime. Do you have a facebook page?
