I’m still on that metalwork kick with jewelry making. Maybe it’s here to stay, I’m loving it so much. Still I don’t want to loose whatever wire work skills I possess (and I have a lot more to learn) so I did a little of that on this necklace. I used copper wire and faceted smokey quartz beads.
I have to admit, the heart is my favorite part of this piece.
This cuff sort of developed on its’ own. It was different in my head. I cut two layers of copper from sheet, etched one, hammered the other and riveted them together. I scalloped the ends and added a commercial toggle clasp.
This pendant was made by hand cutting three hearts from brass sheet and nesting them together. I made a copper bail and riveted all the metal pieces together (that’s five metal pieces!). I later put the pendant on a silver chain for even more of a mixed metal look.
I already have a collection of etched pieces I’ve made and put aside till I know what to do with them. These earrings were made of disks I had made previously and tiny red jade beads.
My head is filled with more ideas – more metal components for earrings, more pendants and cuffs, oh my!
These are beautiful pieces Zoraida. I really must take some classes, as I would love to create wearable art like this.
Thank you for sharing,

I do love your metalwork and you are doing great. But I have to say, do NOT loose your wonderful wire wire skills.
Thanks Donna 😀 Not to worry, I will keep going back to wire working. There is so much to learn in a lifetime and I get so restless 😀

Thank you, Maria 🙂
Love your work!!!
Thank you, Donna! Comments like yours inspire me 😀
Each creation is more stunning than the last! But I have to say that the heart pendant necklace is outstanding!
Thanks Diane! I do like the heart necklace (especially the heart) a lot. Funny, I never used to like hearts until I tried making them more rustic.
Ooh, I do hope you’ll continue with both – and often, together! What an inspiration you are! I love wire work, but never thought to much about it, until a few years ago. I thought metalwork was ‘kinda cool’, but you’ve intrigued me. And now? Lol – you’re inspiring me to MIX the two! Too funny – I love it!
Thanks, Carla. I’m sure you’ll find lots of jewelry techniques to mix and enjoy. I’m still exploring. I’d love to learn enameling someday, glass beads, and so much more.
Wow, awesome Ƅlog format! How long have үou been running
a Ƅlog foг? yοu made running a bloǥ look easy.
The full look of your web site is excellent, as neatlү as

Thanks so much, Gabrielle. I never received a compliment on my blog before 🙂 I’ve been blogging for about 2 years I guess, not sure.
You did nice work on metal. Your skills to design the metal into beautiful jewelry is very nice. I liked your work. I like most three cutted hear nested for a nice piece of jewelry.
