What I made this week

This week I played with metal, no pretty rocks.  I was in metallic mood.   First I created this copper wire necklace

IMG_6736Then I made this copper wire bangle

Later I took out my Sizzix Big Kick and embossed some copper sheet to create these rustic cuffs

IMG_6757Not completely happy with them, I decided to design some clasps for them.  I love cuffs without clasps but find they tend to get caught on clothing and things.

Those cuffs are awesome. How long does it take you on average to create one?

Thanks Joanne! Time is hard to keep track of for me. I tend to stop and start and sonmetimes put something aside till I decide what to do with it next. It could take a few hours or a few days. The creativity part actually takes the longest! I emboss the copper sheet, cut it, file it, create a frame, anchor the cut sheet to the frame, shape the bracelet with a hammer. I then design a clasp and attach it, oxidize, brush and seal the cuff. If I’m happy with it, I list it for sale.

    These are absolutely fantabulous!

  7. LOVE the cuffs! And what an ingenious method of fastening. Even the back looks like a work of art. I just got an oval, stepped bracelet mandrel yesterday because I’ve been wanting to make cuffs. While they won’t be as beautiful as yours, I’m inspired.
