Before and After Patina

As some of you may know, if you’ve read a few of my earlier posts about remaking jewelry or redesigning it somehow. I sometimes go back to jewelry designs I’d previously created and redo them.

I do this for various reasons – like when I may think I’ve evolved a bit more and learned something new.  I get bored with the original design and now find it unexciting.  It had been sitting in my shop for so long I wondered what was wrong with it.  I couldn’t think of anything new and was in a creative funk.

Well here are two more pieces I’ve redesigned slightly by adding a patina.  I actually liked the pieces themselves but “something” was missing.

The oak leaves are plain, yellowish brass

The oak leaves and clasp with patina

A copper, locket/ pendant necklace before and after the patina

I do like this one with or without the patina
