Making Earrings

I never used to enjoy making earrings –  probably because they are small, cramp up my hands and strain my eyes- and yet, I never leave the house without a pair dangling from my ears.  I feel somehow undressed or half naked without earrings.

Ever since I wrote my tutorial on creating beaded earrings, I can’t stop making them –  Ideas just keep popping into my head.  I’ve finally decided that earrings do not have to be complicated little structures to be attractive.

I’ve always admired the beautiful, intricate wire worked pieces by other artisans who could work with such tiny elements and spaces.  I felt intimated by their artistry.  My own designs seemed so amateurish and inadequate in comparison.  Well, I think I’ve overcome that, for now anyway.  So here are some of my  earring creations.  Hopefully, I’ll still like them a week from now.

  1. Your earring designs are wonderful and you definitely have no need to feel inferior to anyone! Like you, I never leave home with earrings on (and usually a bracelet or two). Sometimes I get into a pattern where earring designs come easily and I can whip them out quickly and other times, I struggle for hours with just one pair! Oy vey! Anyway, keep up your great work. I love reading your blog posts! ^_^
